Do I get every image you take during my session or event?

No, you do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall collection. For example, because I/We shoot with low apertures, sometimes we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. In another example, candid laughs and emotions are some of the best images from the session/event.  I/We snap a few extras of these pivotal moments to make sure we have a great shot with the ideal expression perfect for the moment. With my expertise of processing thousands of images each year, I eliminate ones that I feel are duplicates and only deliver the best collection from your session/event.

Do you do destination weddings? What additional fees are associated with destination weddings?

While ARQ Studios is based out of Kansas City and Johnson County, Kansas, we serve clients all around the world. Our destination wedding photography packages include the cost of travel and reasonable accommodations. Because of our frequent trips to the Eureka Springs, Arkansas Area, special, lower rates may apply depending on the specific circumstances.

Have you shot at my venue before?

I/We have shot at hundreds of venues, so there is a good chance that we have. However, if we have not, we will get to the venue early on the day of and be sure to perform a thorough walk-through to scout out the best photography locations. I also do extensive online research prior to your event to be sure me and my team are prepared!

How long will it take to get my session/event gallery?

It really depends on the type of session/event you have and also time of the year. Generally speaking, a one-two hour session takes 2-3 weeks for delivery and a wedding takes anywhere from 30-120 days for delivery of image gallery; 120-180 days for video highlights and up to 180 days for album design, prints, etc. Again, it depends on the time of year and production nuances. For example, if you got married in January, my slow season, your event will quicker than say some who is getting during my peak season. If your wedding is outdoors vs. indoors or a combination of the two, it will be more time-consuming in post-production due to the various lighting environments. I do promise it is worth the wait. :)

Do you shoot Quinceaneras, Debutants, Bah Mitzvahs, or Corporate Events?

Yes! We certainly cover these events! Whether your event is your wedding, another milestone or a corporate event, we have your celebration covered!

Does your studio do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, newborn shoots, commercial photography, or other types of photography?

Yes, we have experience in many fields of photography.

What is your photography style?

I am well known for my unique style of wedding photography which is deeply rooted in documentary style/photojournalism, aka "filmish". I am very much influenced my vintage film and I love using unique perspectives, angles, compositions and artistic post-production techniques to bring out our clients personalities and beauty while telling their individual story.

Yes I do. Every image I deliver is post produced with my characteristic "filmish" style. This involves "basic touchup"  which includes; color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections. Many photographers will not edit their images, or will only edit “select” images from your wedding.  I edit ALL of them.

What is the difference between basic and custom touch ups; and why are there additional costs for advanced retouch?

Advanced post-production includes touch ups such as removal of blemishes, removal of bags under eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. On the other hand, custom post production is anything that requires extensive, custom work in Photoshop such as removing entire objects from the scene, changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene, adding objects to a scene and other custom work. I charge hourly for the custom post production (unless I have included it as part of your package) as the time required ranges depending on the complexity of the project.
