In the last part of ]uly, I met up with the most amazing couple, Kathleen and Ryan at Loose Park in Kansas City, Missouri for their engagement session. I was ECSTATIC when Kathleen asked if we could include Nova, their beloved Vizsla, in their session. This was an amazing session for me personally, for a multitude of reasons. (1) These three are adorable! (Kathleen's eyes are to die for!) (2) Ryan reminded me of boys back home (3) Nova was the best pup a photog could ever ask for and finally (4) My brand new Mark IV malfunctioned and they were super patient while I figured out a work around. We started off the session in the Rose Garden and I just knew these images would come out great!
Nova was so funny as we watched her get distracted by all the critters running around. She was definitely intrigued by the camera though! Just look at that face!
She even winked at me when Kathleen & Ryan got a little snuggly on the bench!
Ryan & Kathleen met as fellow student athletes at Fort Scott Community College. They officially began dating way back on May 1, 2011 and Ryan popped the question during a weekend getaway to Seattle, Washington... <wait for it> while on a sailboat tour of the Puget Sound! <SWOON!> Good job Ryan!
I asked Kathleen if she had tips or advice for other couples about to have their engagement photos taken? She stated, "The main tip we have for couples getting engagement photos taken would be to have a list of pictures you want because the session goes by quickly and some may be forgotten." Which is a GREAT tip and as a photographer, I love it when my clients create a Pinterest board and tag me so I can have a better idea of the look or vibe they are hoping to achieve.
In just a few short months, Kathleen and Ryan will venture to Simple Blessings Farm in Rural Knob Noster, Missouri to make it official. They chose this venue because of the beautiful rustic barn and landscape. They felt the venue perfectly matched the look and feel they were hoping for on their special day. Plus, Kathleen mentioned the owners of Simple Blessings Farm are great! I think they made a great choice and I can't wait to capture their wedding day! Here’s to a life full of health and happiness!
